History

Dutchtown was the original site of Concordia Seminary

Anzeiger des Westens, a German-American newspaper of St. Louis, for a time in the 1840s it had the largest circulation of any paper in Missouri

August Busch Sr. built the restaurant and five-story windmill in 1917 along Gravois

In 1890 the streetcar came through the Marine Villa, creating an explosion in population and construction.

Lemp Brewery introduced Lager Beer to the city around 1840 on South Second Street.
